Fuel line questions
I was looking at my fuel lines on my car and was wondering if all 3rd gens have their lines in the same place: Run along the driver's side underneath and exit under the brake booster with a length of rubber hose and then hard lines that go behind the engine to the tbi. I want to use a mechanical fuel pump on my v8 conversion, so what's the best way to route the line from the drivers side to the pump? I know I'll need to bend some hard line for this.
Another thing, I bought an Edelbrock street pump that only has a 3/8" inlet and outlet, but no provision for a return line. Would it be a problem to delete the 5/16" return line completely? I guess that would make it really old school, although my 71 a-body has a return line.

Re: Fuel line questions
Nobody has any advice on how to run the fuel lines from the drivers side to a mechanical pump?.

Re: Fuel line questions
i am doing this from memory of the engine bay and i dont have a drivers side fuel line nor a mechanical pump.. you could bend up a hard line that follows the trans tunnel curve, goes over to the other side and run down the frame rail.. then connect a piece of rubber hose from the hard line to the mech. pump.. alot of work
OR
just get a new v-8 carb hard fuel line that goes to the other side.. a factory one..

Yeah, I thought about your first option, and I also thought about this:

I figure it would bend relatively easy, but would it be ok for street use? Also, can I delete the return line without causing any problems? My pump has no return line hook up.

Re: Fuel line questions
i can tell you to either block off or take out the return line.. i dont run one.. just a feed from the tank..
as for the tubing.. not sure if its ok for street but i dont see why not.. the aluminum should bend sort of easily.. i know the stainless one is a bitch to bend cause i was gonna use that for my build.. ended up just running an -8AN braided line all the way..
but all in all, your way could work.. just make sure to secure it down good..

Thanks for your advice, man. Looks like I need to get a little creative with fuel line soon!

Re: Fuel line questions
factory carb cars were on the passenger side. Just follow the trans tunnel from the drivers side to the passenger side and have the tubing exit near the pump and run some braided line or a short piece of rubber, away from suspension pieces and heat like exhaust components.
