How to calibrate/adjust electric Q-jets?
I have an 87 Formula lg4 with a electric q-jet. Which is the air and fuel adjustments on the botom corners? The car is running real rich and gas is up to 3 bucks now.:mad
Also where should the choke be positioned?
Thanks
Edit: By electric I mean computer controlled

If it is running rich, you've probably got a bad O2 sensor. Is your SES light coming on? If so, get the code(s) it's setting. But, the O2 sensor can get weak without setting a code, which will cause the engine to run rich.
The mixture screws in the base shouldn't be used for tuning. They should be set to a certain point and then left alone. The final adjustment is made using a dwell meter set on the 6 cylinder scale and hooked to that green connector on the passenger side that doesn't hook to anything, and adjusting the idle air bleed in the airhorn. Other adjustments are lean and rich stops inside the carb, but those shouldn't be an issue unless the carb has been apart. The other adjustment is the throttle position sensor, which probably doesn't need adjustment if it was set properly and is still working properly.

You've probably got a sensor, vacuum or electrical problem that is causing your rich condition; providing your motor is still stock. First step towards diagnosing is to check for codes. If none are present, get ahold of a dwell meter. It can be used to determine whether your vehicle is going into closed loop or not and help diagnose the problem.
I've averaged 24+ on my last two tanks. Springtime/ not hot enough for A/C and not much warm up time in the mornings.
