K&N stub stack

Just installed one on my holley 750VS. I have a summit standard drop base cleaner with a 4" k&n filter in it. The instructions say to have 1.5" clearance between top of stub stack and the filter lid. I have 1.5" - 1.75" in the center, but toward the sides of the stack its more like 1".

Anyone else run one of these with a drop base and do they have with and w/o results from the track?

Where can I find a drop base cleaner that only drops about 1"?

I don't have a stub stack, but came across similar issues with the Proform mainbody on the 396 with a factory air cleaner. Only had about a 1/2" of clearance. I added an air horn spacer to compensate.

The open element drop base air cleaners I've had were around 1-1/4".

Re: K&N stub stack

This drop base is 1-1/4". With those air horn (air cleaner) spacers, do you have to use two gaskets, one below and one above the spacer?

If so, this will help me out cause I want to space 3/4", but found a cheap 1/2" spacer.

Yes, one gasket below and one above the spacer.
