Re: Vaper Lock

Running alittle hot is probably the cause...my car was running about 220 the other day because it was so hot that day and I experienced vapor lock myself, my car would almost die then take of for just a split second and amost die again, I had to be real easy on the gas just to get home. I dont have any problems when it is cool outside 70's or low 80's but the other day it was above 90 and I had that problem. I would start with trying to make your car run cooler...what temp is it running at? What intake and carb are you running? Aluminum intakes dissipate heat alot better than a cast iron intake. Either way I would get your cooling system right and then go from there.

Re: Vaper Lock

It has been running 220. The thermo they out in it is 195. When I get it back from the shop should I change it to 160 or 180. Would that make a difference. I am running a Qjet 4 bbl. It is electronic stock carb. STill have the fuel metering sensor, and another sensor( forgot what it was).
