I have an 82z with a 454 in it.I just got it running with an edelbrock 750 I have. I want to get this car into the 12s if I can. The engine is a fresh build with 049 oval port heads, 10.5 to 1 compression and an rpm air gap intake. The cam is a comp xtreme energy 262 hyd. flat tappet. I have a few carbs on the shelf to choose from, a holly 750 vac.secondary, a holly 850 doubble pumper, and a 670 street avenger that I think would probbably be too small for this combo. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

 

That isn't a very big cam, but the 850 DP is the closest to what the engine could use of those choices.
