i put a thread in days ago but only one reply.i have a new engine but it is running rich.the car runs great at all rpms and idles great,when i checked the mixure screws the primaries were open one and a quarter turns out,but the secondaries were only open three quarters.i no they are suppose to be the same so my question is if it runs great with the four barrels set at three quarters should i put my primaries at three quarters.i think thats why i am fouling plugs every few hundred miles if i dont get on it.i called bg and they want to no what my initial timing is.i dont no i didnt tune it.the guy had it running great when it left his house.how do you time for initial timing?it is a 650 with 400 horse.any suggestions?

Initial timing is what you have at idle with the vacuum advance disconnected. Total advance is the highest advance you get with high RPMs with the vacuum advance disconnected.

Not completely sure about Demons, but the idle circuits aren't identical primary to secondary on a Holley.
