Car: 1984 camaro

Hi, Im 17 and i recently bought my first car. Its a 1984 camaro, with a stock 305 and a stock E4ME carburetor. When it's warmed up it runs great. Its the cold starts that are a problem. When starting cold it blows lots of black smoke and is difficult to to keep running. The carb choke is closing when cold but it seems the carb is flooding itself out even if I manually open the choke. It sometimes floods itself out to the point it backfires through the carb. The spark plugs are fuel fouled. Eventually as it warms up it clears up and runs fine. Any help greatly appreciated!!!

Sounds like your choke isnt working right. Here is a link, go through and test and adjust.
