Help a noob with a carb question please.

Alright you may have seen my other thread that my fuel pressure gauge reads 0 psi plugged into my afpr, well when i take the fuel line off the carb and plug it, i was able to adjust my fpr to 4.5 psi using the gauge, but when i hook it back to the carb, the gauge never reads any pressure...

is the carb bad? i mean its used and i have no idea how old it is, or am i doing something wrong?

If your carb was causing this, gasoline would be pouring into the intake manifold.

Has to be something else. Probably something simple that is being overlooked.
