Lokar TV cable help

I did several searches on adjusting TV cables but am still a little foggy on setting mine as it is a Lokar instead of the factory style with the button. My instructions say to pull the cable as tight as I can while holding WOT and set cable stop there, but I can pull that cable pretty damn far, and that doesn't quite make sense to have it out that far, it also sayd there should be no slack in the cable when at WOT.... that leaves the door pretty wide open on the too far side. I also read on tvmadeez.com that at WOT you should have 2-4 psi on a tranny pressure gauge (don't have one) and this makes me think the cable should only move a small amount just before achieving WOT when set properly. Can anyone help? About how much space should I have between the cable stop and the clip (attaching cable to carb), and about how far should the cable "move" (for lack of a better word) from relaxed to WOT? thanks in advance guys

What carburetor are you using? If other than stock, did you use a corrector bracket on the throttle arm?

The TV basically has to be pulled as far as it will travel at WOT. Everything in between idle & WOT is for correct shifting operation.

Re: Lokar TV cable help

I have a holley carb, also the Lokar throttle and tv cable bracket as well as the geometry corrector. I can pull the cable probably 3 to 4 inches, that's appropriate? (brand new tranny doesn't even have fluid in it yet, does this make a difference?)

Sounds good to me. No, you don't need fluid in the tranny to make this adjustment.
