Well, summit carrys a regulator like that and will save you 20$. I bought my 4 inch cowl from Ebay for 275+ shipping.

I dropped the tank and converted to holley pumps before but the 86 TA i have will be going your route with the bypass reg.
Good luck.

What Material is your hood made out of? and does it bolt on to the stock hood hinges?

Yes sir, for 275$ +shipping it is a bolt on hood made of fiberglass. It will however have a few spots that are bubbled that you need to fill, doesnt take much, i love this hood. It loks HUGE from the inside so if you are under 6 ft you might be worried.

And did you order yours from a eBay company or did you just get lucky and find one? if so do you remember the name of the company maybe? and the cost of shipping?

I think the 4 inch is better than the 3, but i am 6'3. You might be fine with it, it is just intamidating looking. The name of the company is Liberty Fiberglass, on Ebay they onle sell it for 275$ buy it now, shipping was 115$ i believe to here in TX. They are located in Cincinatti. (or however you spell it)
Here it is, they went up since...290$
