Hi everyone.

I am new to the site and apologize for starting a new thread. I have a stock 88 Camaro vert with a 305 TBI. I have just pulled a 350 out of my donor car and am starting to find the parts I need.

My question is what is the best fuel source? TBI, TPI, Carb or Aftermarket Fuel Injection? I have a TBI setup and the donor I just pulled came with an Edelbrock 650 cfm carb.

I am open to all suggestions and thanks for your feedback.

Joe

The best for what exactly? What are your goals? How will the vehicle be used? Also I see you're from NJ, where at in NJ?

Well it is a project car. Not going to be used as a daily driver. Just want a snotty camaro to tool around town and take to shows.

I live in Lake Hopatcong.

So I guess this thread isn't going anywhere. I decided to stick with the carb I got with the motor. An Edelbrock is a decent carb and I'm not sure if I have the patients to get the TBI working right. Maybe down the road I will give it a shot.

Well if gas mileage isn't a main concern and you already have a carb I think you've found the answer. Carb is better for all out performance and easy tuneability and can get decent gas mileage if tuned properly. It's also going to cost you the least amount of money since you already have it. Personally I would recommend a holley carb if you didn't already have a carb but an edelbrock carb is decent (although a few members around here would tell you they're crap). I ran one for a while because like you it came with my first project car and it was fine for what it was. You can always upgrade to something else in the future if you wish, but for now if you're just trying to get it running and on the road a carb will be just fine.
