Mech Fuel Pump replacement
I feel bad posting this but I couldnt find decent advise searching. Im swapping out a block mount pump and cant seem to figure out how to get the gas to stop flowing through the lines. How are you supposed relieve the pressure, or syphoning effect?? I pulled the gas cap, but no avail....
I know I can plug line, but I need to cut the metail line and re-route some rubber hose.

If you pulled the cap and it's still siphoning, you either need to lower the level of fuel in the tank or raise the front end of the car above the level of fuel in the tank.

Re: Mech Fuel Pump replacement
Thank you!!!!! It was about midnight last night (guess the brain shut down) and I didnt even think that it was the fact that i have the car completely in the air, and the rear is maybe slightly higher (was messing with pinion angle). Bad new is that I have to weld the exhaust by the collector and gas got all over the engine cradle and floor. How long til there is no possibility of igniting anything??

Put some kitty litter over it let it soak for an hour then pick up and soak some more in there and you should be good.
That or just light it and when the fire goes out there is no accelerate!!!
