Holley Stumble

i have a 92 RS with a 400sbc mostly stock. 725 holley on it thats been rebuilt if i punch the gas from idle it stumbles then will pick up. but if i throttle up slow its fine. would that be a incorrectly adjusted accelerator pump.. or is it something else. its drivable like it is.. just irritating if i wanna get on it a lil bit

when you snap the throttle and look in the barrels of the carb is it spraying correctly? It could be too much carb for the motor......or the accelerator pump is shot and your not getting any fuel at all so when you accelerate slowly the motor doesnt need the extra fuel.

go out and pump the gas and see what its doing.

im guessing carb to big

changing throttle shaft seals is piece of cake

ive went from worn holley to new edelbrock and then traded the edelbrock for a rebuilt holley. i personally loathe the edelbrock carbs.......personal experiences

Which pump cam did you go to? My 350 is doing the same thing. I have a Holley 600cfm VS on it now. I loosened up the pump arm screw and it helped, but its still does it.

If you put a bit stiffer spring in your VS you should be able to fix this.

I have the stiffest one(black) in right now. I had a medium one(plain) in before and going to the stiffest one helped, but it still does it.

While I appreciate the answer, I don't want to hijack the thread, I was just looking for a quick answer. I'm having other issues with the carb as well so I think I'm gonna have to break down and start a thread on my issues. Searching isn't working out so well.
