fuel pump questions + VIN questions

ok, I just bought a 86 with the LG4, my first qusetion is does it have a mechanical fuel pump or both electric and mechanical? I checked on cskautoparts.com and apperently it depends on the VIN so this leads to my next question, which digit do they want i know they are asking H,F,or G but is it the 4th 5th 6th..... which digit? And finnally if it has BOTH does it need both to run or was it a factory "overkill"??

Im sure you are probley thinking why dont you run out to the car and look it over..... well I went and paid for it and got the title, but it was snowing here and it's been sitting for a while with four flats so im waiting to go pick it up till the weather clears....

Im just trying to get a jump start looking for parts and what-have-you....

Thanks for any help...

Unless the in-tank electric was installed by the dealer as a result of owner complaints of vapor lock.
