what do you if you break the screws on your butterfly valves when your taking it apart to rebuild it any suggestions. I sure some one else has had this problem before and came up with some kind of fix.

Either drill them out, or find another throttle plate.

Removing the butterflies is not a normal rebuild process. The screws are staked, so you have to grind off that staking before trying to remove the screws. The only time it is warranted is if you're repairing worn shafts/bushings.

How hard is it to get to the screws? and do you know how tight they are still in there? I've never broken one off in a carb before, but i broke one off in my valve covers before, you can buy a set from autozone to drill it out if you don't wanna just use a regular drill bit, the screws i was drilling out were pretty small, and i had to use a smaller drill bit and it just kept breaking. What I did was, take a new wood drill bit, the kind with the 3 little prongs, the newer the better, because they are kinda pointy when they're new, put it on the top of the broken screw and lightly hammer it just enough to make an indent, without removing it from the spot you just hammered, take a pair of needle nose pliers and slowly try and turn it out by gripping onto the flat part of the bit. if its not too tight you should be able to do it like that...it worked for me, just take it slow.

You shouldnt take them out unless your installing throttle bushings. They usually come with a bushing kit.. dont know where youd find them elsewhere. You use locktite to keep them from coming out.
