so i removed my carb to clean it and also removed the distributor. car sat for about a month and now when i turn the key on it wont even pump gas. i dont understand why its not even pumping gas now. has a mechanical fuel pump on the side of the block. any ideas where to start??

 

Not sure if we're misunderstanding each other, but the engine has to turn over for a mechanical pump to pump gas. Just turning the key on isn't going to do it.
