hello im new
Hi all as it says im new here and i am about to get my z28 here soon that im buying from a friend for 1500.
It is a 1985 z28 t top car and has had the 5.0 f/i and 700r4 yanked out and has had a 350 carb motor put in and mated to a th400.
my concern is that when i start the car it runs fine but when i put it in drive it will die but it dies mostly when im driving and i let off the gas. What can i do to fix this problem. It is a quadrajet carb.

Trying to establish a baseline first. If you don't have a proper ignition set-up, nothing you do to the carb will matter.
So, if it was the "stock" distributor on the 350, and the 350 had a carb on it from the factory, that means it probably has a vacuum/mechanical advance distributor on it. Hopefully it's a "stand-alone" distributor, as some truck carb'd 350's had what appeared to be a simple vacuum/mechanical advance distributor, but it had another connector on it that went to a knock sensor. So, it would help if you describe exactly what distributor you have, and where (and how) the timing was set.
Next, being a carb'd 350 from a truck could still mean that it is a computer controlled carb, meaning if it is not hooked up to the computer in your car, it won't run worth a hoot. So, we need more details about exactly what q-jet it is.
Finally, are you running the choke? Is it hooked up and operating properly?
