Car is running funny; Fuel shoots out of carb
Today the car shut down. It started up after a few long cranks and when it did white smoke came out the exhaust.
Did it again when i took a turn. So I parked it. Restarted it after a long time cranking. When I was looking at the carb and shook the car, it bogged down than gas shot through the carb.
So I checked the fuel bowl levels and they were fine. Started it back up again and shook it, same thing.
I let it sit at work for 6 hours. Well, I started it and it start up instantly. Opened the hood and there was gas all over the primary bowl so I figure it was from when I started it. Ran fine when I got home, it wasn't warm but it wasn't cold either. When I jerked the wheel back and forth really hard it shut off but when I shook it using my hands it didn't.
Any ideas?

did you remove the bowl to check the float level? or did you remove the site plug? make sure the fuel pressure is no more than about 7psi. make sure the float damper spring is not missing.
