This was on my buddies car a few nights ago. 1988 Camaro RS, 350 carbed. Bowtie heads, unknown cam. He had me looking at why it wouldn't stay running. Turns out while I was cranking it over it would want to fire but would never stay running. I checked the fuel pressure and it was 8-10 psi! His (and my) question is, did we hurt anything with the carb / motor while trying to start the car with the fuel pressure this high? It fired but never stayed running.
thanks,

The carb wasn't hurt.
If the carb flooded, it could have washed down the cylinder walls.

It should be alright though right? Maybe change the oil and fix the fuel pressure?Originally Posted by five7kid

Yes. Then make sure no vacuum leaks. Where is the timing at? Make sure all base settings on carb are good.Originally Posted by zacharyhorn
