There is no such thing as too much information.

But there more than often is a situation of TOO little when members ask for help in troubleshooting a carburetor problem of any kind. Really it can be applied to all aspects of this hobby but since this is the carb board...

Seriously. More information is needed to better help you.

What engine size?

Condition (burns oil, smokes, runs great) ?

Recent tune up?

Any performance modifications (list them)?

Do you know what cam?

Heads?

Intake?

Transmission?

Convertor?

Rear Gears?

Timing at idle?

Total Timing?

How much mechanical advance does the distributor have?

How much vacuum does the engine produce at idle?

What springs are in the distributor? WHAT distributor is in it?

What is the idle RPM?

Do you run vacuum advance?

How many degrees timing does it add at idle?

Year of car?

Year of engine?

Give us all the information you know and can find from the car and we can better help....

To post a new thread that says "When I punch it, it dies. Please help"... is not enough info guys!

We want to help, hence why we are here and help when we can. Not saying me myself, or the next guy. Talking about when anyone replies. The more information you give the better the chance you get a useful reply with giving all the information you can. Sometimes it will not be a simple answer and some investigation on your part as the thread starter and "problem haver" will be necessary. If you don't know the timing you need to figure out how to get the tools in order to. Some things need to be known.

Not trying to single anyone out. I too used to post threads asking for help with very little info, Through the years I have learned it is better to post too much then too little information when asking for help.
