Will the Torque Convertor Lock Up Switch Work After I switch To Carb?

Hi I was wondering if the toggle switch mentioned in this thread https://www.thirdgen.org/torqueswitch
would work for locking the torque convertor up for use on the highway?
I have a 305 TBI but I have pulled the motor out and im changing the heads, intake, cam and im switching to Carb.
I will be leaving the Computer in and Im going to tuck all the wires and sensors I wont be using now that im switching to carb, But I need a method so I am able to lock up the torque convertor while im on the highway and this seemed to be an inexspensive answer but also sounds to good to be true.
I know there are kits from B&M but im trying to save my budget as much as possible. So I need to know if this switch is dependant on the computer and sensors i wont be using or if it will actually work?

yeah it works. iv done it. i actually did it the next day after i read that exact same post (which was like a year ago when i did). its cake.

and if you want it to lock up automaticaly like it is suppose to when you reach 40mph, just leave your computer in, powered up, and keep the vss (vehicle speed sensor) and the tclc (torque converter lock up clutch) installed and plugged in.

You need to keep the ECU in there. I had mine hooked up this way and it worked for a while. Now, the converter wants to lock in every gear regardless of flipping the toggle switch. Not sure what changed. I bought the TCI kit and will hook it up this winter.

if you want it to work only by the toggle switch, and not have the ecu period,,then you have give you switch a new power supply. because if you hook it the way that thread was saying, its using power from the ALDL (which is the power supply the ecu provides). so you could just run power straight from the battery or fuse block. that will able you to remove the ecu completely

No, the TCC circuit takes +12V from the gauges fuse, the ECM switches the ground. The switch grounds the TCC circuit through the diagnostic pins in the ALDL. It will work fine without any additional wiring, and without the ECM installed, as long as the harness wasn't hacked up.
