Cable hookups?
I am putting a carbed 350 in my 92 firebird and i have a edlebrock 1406 carb im trying to figure out how i attach my throttle and tv cables. Do they make a kit or how does that work? And it has an electric choke how would i wire that up?

Re: Cable hookups?
The throttle cable goes on a stud in the upper hole on the throttle arm, the kickdown cable goes on a stud in the lower hole on the throttle arm. You should be able to find the studs at a local parts store, or you can order them online.
You're using a TH350?
The electric choke gets a source of 12V power that's only on when the ignition is on, or better yet that's only on while the engine is running.

Re: Cable hookups?
Where'd you get that throttle cable? A 3rd gen Camaro should use a cable that has a simple hole in the cable end that slides over a stud in the throttle arm and is retained by a special clip.
Regardless of retention method, the throttle cable stud goes in the little hole that's below and to the right of the BIG hole at the top of the throttle arm in the picture you posted above.
Given that your cable is clearly a "Frankenstein" for the application, you better be sure that by applying the gas pedal inside the car you can move the throttle from completely closed (idle) to completely open (WOT). I suspect you make have some issues in that area so be absolutely sure it's got full travel before you take it for it's first spin around the block.

Re: Cable hookups?
what kinda stud do i need for the tv cable? and where are the return springs supposed to hook up?
Re: Cable hookups?
I believe Edelbrock sells a return spring kit for the carb that hooks up to that big hole in the top of the throttle arm. It's got a rotator built into the assembly so the springs aren't just scraping around in the hole.
Since you're running a TH350 trans you just have a simple kickdown cable. Just buy a GM-style kickdown cable stud (also available from Edelbrock) and bolt it into the bottom hole on the throttle arm. You adjust it so the cable is just shy of running out of travel as the throttle arm reaches WOT. The last half inch or so of travel in the cable is a pretty stiff pull so make sure you know exactly where the limit of the cable really is at full extension before you make the adjustment and lock it down. Too long and you won't get a downshift. Too short and it'll prevent you from getting to WOT (and possibly bending the bracket or breaking a cable).

Re: Cable hookups?
throttle cable can go either in the bigger hole on the top of the carb lever or the smaller one just below that. The tv cable can go on the lowest hole of the carb lever.
