Re: 82 firebird crossfire

Not very difficult. Read the tech article about converting over to carb. The basic process applies to all the EFI 3rd gen engines, including CFI.

Carb, carb intake, Mallory 4309 return-style regulator and a non-computer controlled distributor are the main things you need. Not sure if you can use your CFI throttle cable or not, but that's one area that's application-specific. Worst case, you change it out for a different one. Ditto the transmission cable (if equipped with an automatic trans).

Re: 82 firebird crossfire

pretty easy-swapped my car between carb and C/F
a couple times until i had the C/F fully modified to
where i liked...
Basicly a remove and replace operation
A few details:
-C/F throttle cable will work, but is best switched to
carb as it is long
-tranny cable is the same
-for the fuel pump, can use the original with a regulator
and modified wiring,or just leave original pump in place
and install a mechanical pump as since the original is
a turbine type, fuel can pull through it easy with it
inactive-unlike a roller or gear type pump.
-a circuit will need to be rigged for the TCC clutch
in the tranny(unless tranny swapped for non TCC)
