apt adjustment lowering rods leans cruise? a few questions

on a later model, the type with apt in the air horn top, does turning the screw CW lean the mixture and how much can it lean the mixture?

For the cruise (primary metering rods all the way down) How would you compare lowering the rods to a jet size change?

I measured mine is currently at 11/32 from top of casting to brass apt screw ledge which is about 3.5 turns up from the bottom.

Are the later model primary rods tapered so lowering the rods puts the taper lower and is like shrinking the jet size?

Is the tip diameter larger on the late model and is it .034 or .036

I understand when in wot power mode, the metering rods pop up and only the tip is supposed to be in the jet. How much affect does lowering the rods have on the wot tip position?

This leads to me rejetting the carb to a bigger engine. moving up jet sizes to enrich the mix. I am going to test going from 70 to 76 jet and keep rods at 49M
and was wondering if I get it too rich, if turning the rods lower will perhaps make the jet appear as a 74 or 73 jet size.

Frankly wot developing full power has little appeal to me as I am more interested in economy of operation.

here JET Performance Products mentions adjusting apt till it gets a lean surge and then rich it back out a little
my carb also has the socket 1/8 screw in plug for the apt
