choke thermostat
im currently trying to replace the choke thermostat, but when i took the old one off, the spring snapped off and i wasnt able to see how it was on, on the new thermostat the spring "hook" is at the other end, can anyone help me with how to put the new one in?, (like instructions for dummy's kinda deal) lol, and also the "butterfly" (front 2 barrels) are stuck open, and i cant even push them down, any advice would be greatly appreciated

About the choke butterfly, hold the throttle open a little bit and see if you can move the butterfly.
To install the thermostat, reference https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/carb...e-rebuild.html , scroll down to Fig. 6C1-8. Note the "hook" on the spring is below the choke lever. So, start with the "hook" clockwise of the choke lever tab, put the thermostat up to the choke housing, then rotate it counterclockwise until it hooks the choke lever and is in the proper position (as dictated by the notch & tab in the thermostat and housing that mate together).
