Not sure of what fuel pump I should use?
I am currently runing a 350 (385hp) with CC Q jet. I have an issue with car nosing over at high RPMs. I have Carter mechanical pump and want to add an electric in in tank. Would like to know wich will work best TBI pump or pump from L69. Also how much presure do these pumps put out.
Thanks Frank

TBI pumps 12 psi. TPI pumps 40+ psi. Keep in mind, it's not the pressure only, it's the flow rate - folks say a TBI pump doesn't flow enough. But there are higherflowing TBI pumps available.
What year car? If it's 1986 or 1987, chances are you already have a "helper" pump in the tank.
I'm not convinced your issue is fuel - cars with way more hp than yours have been using mechanical pumps for years and years.
What's your total timing at 3000 rpms? What's you initial timing? Might need more timing advance to 'come in' quicker for your motor.

My car is an 86 and did not come with helper pump. My total timing is 32 and initial is 10. I really feel that its a fuel issue....if I were running a Holley I don't think this problem would exist.

I forgot this is computer controlled carb - it's taking care of timing for you (I'd guess). Old man having a brain fart here - my post is totally not helpful, sorry.Might try just a regular external electric pump back at the tank to help, like a Holley blue or something. I'm certainly no expert with the CC carbs.
