bracket trouble??

I have a quadrajet carb on my engine. When I got car, the tv cable was just hanging there rigged. I got a erson bracket, which is now edelbrock 8036 bracket. I installed it. The tv cable lines up good but is really tight. It is out of its housing as far as I can go. The throttle cable is aa slight angle, but that doesn't worry me. What worrys me is how tight tv cable is and I don't know if this is a proper bracket for qjet. All aplications I saw where for edlebrock carb.
