What is this on this carb?

What is the port in between the AV flap in this pic? Not the one on top, but the horizontal one in the back?

Clean air port. Used to be used with old hot air choke systems as the source for "clean" air to be fed through the choke heating system. It is open to the area behind the air valve flaps- no vacuum.

It was also used in the early 3rd gen years for the EGR solenoid clean air source (my '82 system used it, but the '86 did not).

So since it is non-vacuum it doesn't need to be capped?
