I just got a 83 Trans am and it wont turn over, its not the fuel pump i know that its something to do with the CARB. I can hear the gas being shot into the carb but its just not getting to the engine to ignite, it gets right to the point to where it will almost turn over as long as your spraying carb cleaner on it, this is my first car and i dont know the carbs that well is this a expensive repair or a cheap one? HELP I NEED AN ANSWER ASAP

 

Not the carb at all! Most likely a dead battery or bad battery cables (corrosion or rust). If those check out okay, move onto the starter itself and the ignition.

 

Agreed, start with the electrics esp the big cables. How fast is it cranking?
