Edelbrock 1406 help

Two questions what does the cable in the picture do? Is that my choke cable? I have ran the car with it on and off (because it fell off) and I cannot tell what it does.

Those two front ***** adjust fuel air mix, what way do I turn them to lean it out? And how much should I try turning them?

Thanks

Re: Edelbrock 1406 help

The cable with the slotted end is the cruise control cable.

The two front ***** only adjust the idle mixture. Before making any adjustments, read the Edelbrock manual completely from front to back before doing anything, and then follow every single one of their tuning steps exactly, and in the order listed. It would be hard to find a better description of the tuning process than the one they include in the manual. A .pdf is available on the Edelbrock website if you don't have the paper manual.

Re: Edelbrock 1406 help

Ok so ive read more and watched several videos. I just adjusted my idle mixture and fast idle level. I bought it used and did not come with new metering rods or jets. I guess I need to buy some slightly smaller ones for my car. I always thought there was a dial to change the fuel ratio above but I guess not
