Okay lemme see if i can point you in some direction. First off, the intake. Assuming that the engine is 87 and newer, the center 2 bolts will be at a different angle then the others. This was done for ease of access when servicing the TPI intake. With that being said, most carb intakes do not take this into account so you would have to carefully elongate the center 2 holes for the bolts to work then make some angled shims so they seat and torque properly. Now, edelbrock made a performer intake specifically for this head design at one time. IM not sure if they still do or not but it might be worth a phone call. Second option is a company out of texas call DAY motorsports (yes they have a website) they carry inexpensive intakes by a company called profesional products. its not the greates stuff in the world but they sell the custom shim spacers to go with there intakes to accomodate 87 and newer centerbolt gm heads.
On the 2nd part of your post. Yes, you can run a non roller hydraulic cam in the roler block. you joust wouldnt install the dogbones or the spider retainer but honestly, why would you want to? The way the newer oils are formulated, not to mention the much better cam designs available in roller format I see no reason to go to a flat tappet cam.
I hope this helps.
