Car: 1985 Trans Am
Engine: 305 carb stock
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: stock
Quadrojet or edelbrock?

What is the advantages/disadvantages of a stock quadrojet to a 500cfm thunder series edelbrock carb for a stock 305? Which would you guys go with? Oh and the quadrojet is non cc

Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
Q-jet - Smaller primaries, bigger secondaries. Means better driveability and economy from the primaries, more flow capability from the secondaries (but will only use as much as you need).

Edelbrock Thunder - It's shiny.

Second the Q jet. I have had a few but on my boat I really dug in to her. WOW what a carb. When idling around she sips fuel. But when I give he the honk she moves. Just as tuneable as any other carb out there.
