CC carb with non CC dist.

Is there any problems with running this combo? I currently have the stock Q-jet rebuilt and went with a MSD vacuum and mechanical advance dizzy. I know there are plenty of guys that have switched to the non cc dizzy, but I am not sure if they also swapped the carb. I have had significant gains at WOT with the new dizzy but it tends to bog down and feel a bit like a misfire at stop lights, and leaving the lights. I know the carb should get a new tune with the new setup, but I am hoping this is all it will need.

So again, is there any major issues here? btw my check engine light is removed due to it constantly sending false signals and I can usually tell when something is not running how it should so there is no issue with it being on all the time with me

The E4ME will not function correctly without the computer controlled dizzy. The ECM relies on distributor reference signals for rpm. Without the proper distributor the system will go into limp home mode and the carb will run rich. You'll suffer low mileage, throttle transition problems and overall crappy running.

Re: CC carb with non CC dist.

That would make sense to me and I would have thought it would be a possibility except I am getting better mileage and besides at some stop lights, runs better than before which is what is throwing me off. If it was all of the problems you listed I wouldn't be as confused but as it has been getting maybe 3-4 mpg more than before and runs a lot better, especially at WOT than what I got with a CC dizzy. It's just that bog at some stop lights that is happening, which probably still is limp home mode. Thanks!
