need help asap
i am swapping my 1991 firebird 3.1 v6 auto to a 86 firebird 305 carb'd i am having a little trouble understanding how my new wiring harness for the 86 will run the fuel pump? i now i saw it a few times saying wire in a oil pressure switch but i cant find more info about that. for now i am doing a 3 port return style regulator with my fuel pump and i will be changing to a stock pick up within a few months i just need my car driving please

its up to you how you do it but i didnt wire in a oil switch because that wont allow it to prime. so if you wanted you could wire a oil switch but you would likely need a different switch in parallel that you would turn on to prime it but leave off once it starts, that way it would shut off if the engine quit for any reason. there was a pink wire on my 87 ( check your diagrams to be sure) but went through the rear under the rear seat. that needs 12v through a relay to protect the switch. if you need further help i could do a diagram if you let me know which way you want to go

i just use a switch, i did everything on the diagram exept the leg on the left for the oil pressure switch. but if something happened where i forgot to turn it off or i couldnt it would just keep pumping gas out.
