carb swap help
ok.. i have a 87 firebird with a 350 in it. i want to get a new carb for it, as the existing one is old, worn out, and gives me terrible throttle response. I dont have the time or skill to rebuild it myself, and want a quick easy swap/fix. from what i can guess, the existing carb is a Computer Command Control E4ME Quadrajet.. question is: can i go to a Street Demon, 625 cfm, 4-Barrel, Square Bore/Spread Bore, Electric Choke? it seems to me the hookups will all be the same, except for that Idle Mixture Control Solenoid plug on top front?

suggestions then? would like to go to a demon or quick fuel..
does the idle mixture even need to be plugged in?
i have unplugged it in the past (mistakenly) and the car ran the exact same
