coolant is mixing with the coolant somewhere sounds like hard to tell where until you inspect the intake manifold gaskets. not much more work to do the heads. if the exhaust bolts come loose. whole gasket set for sbc isnt that much last time i bought one

if you gaskets before the coolant mixes with the oil too long it will be fine. if it has the main bearings go south pretty quick

Well Miguel, I just read your thread. A blown head gasket is very fixable. Don't give up on it yet. Just be careful how you spend your cash. The third gen is very fun to drive when it runs right. Myself I had to remove the computer, egr, air pump, cat, and change to a Holley 4175 and MSD vac/mech advance distributor to make it fun to drive.
Just so you guys know ill selling my car for 800 dollars. I hate that car now. I took it to a shop that worked on it everyday for 2 weeks. I hungout and watched since ive had my fair share with it and they didnt even charge me cause they felt bad. Noone has a clue why it runs how it does. Ill have to go carless for awhile and this definetly ruined how i look at thirdgens

i would agree with getting rid of all the emissions garbage and blocking the holes. there is way to much old stuff going in there to effectively trouble shoot. i had a 86 305 that was my first non stock swap on my v6 car and it was so much easier to work on when you can actually see the engine. its a good way to learn how to work on cars too. there are a ton on here that have done it for the same reasons.
