Hi, I did a 3.1 v6 to gen 1 350 v8 swap in my 91 camaro, and im running into a problem with the throttle. all brackets that i use dont quite fit right.. when the clip is positioned into the bracket, its always too close to the throttle, so the pedal has to travel almost completely down in order to move the throttle plate at all. I have a speed demon 650 carb, and for one, the ears that are used to bolt to the manifold are positioned in such a way that many throttle brackets cannot even bolt to it. I did a little research here before I joined and found that some people are using a universal one- either from jegs or summit- but before forking over 70-80 bucks on steel thats going to be covered by a breather, I wanted to see if anyone here knew of an actual bracket for that carb.

Also, it occurred to me that the throttle cable from the factory for the v6 may be the issue.. is that possible?

all help is very appreciated!

Re: throttle issues
Do yourself a favor and buy an adjustable throttle/trans cable bracket that bolts to the back of the carb instead of to the intake. You'll use it over and over and over again in different applications with many different cable setups. It's one of those things that's well worth the money for all the headaches it will save you now and in the future.

There are some high end units that cost a bit but look and work flawlessly. There are also cheapies (Spectre chrome cheapie) that cost almost nothing and work just fine (if you are very careful on the adjustments).

Re: throttle issues
i just made one out of the original bracket, and a few other pieces of metal to attach it on the third bolt from the front on the manifold and another empty one in front of the dist.
