TPI to carb mechanical fuel pump issue

TPI to carb mechanical fuel pump issue
so I swapped from Tpi to carb I am using a mechanical fuel pump and trying to pull threw the stock Tpi lines, the car will loose fuel pressure and die within 2 miles and even at idle for along time, can it not keep up scince its pulling threw the Tpi pump?

Most likely, yes. You'll need to drop the tank and install a carb fuel pickup.

Go get yourself a nice thick frozen custard. Now, instead of a straw or spoon, use a coffee stir stick to suck it up.
That's what you're asking your mechanical fuel pump to do.
Either use the in-tank electric as a pusher pump to the mechanical (but only if your mechanical has a return); power the in-tank electric and install a return-style fuel pressure regulator (you can also put a return-style reg after the mechanical pump if your mechanical doesn't have a return); or drop the tank and remove the in-tank electric pump - there's a sticky in the top section of this forum called "Carb gas tank pickup" that explains how to remove the pump and convert the pickup to mechanical style.
