Vortec TPi to Carb TV Cable Question
Hey all, I've spent the day doing some research on here and figured I would start a thread to ask some questions. I am soon to be converting my 350 Vortec TPI to carb using the Weiand Vortec Intake and Summit 600 carb. (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/su...00vs/overview/).
I seem to understand that I will need either a TBI or Carb TV cable. My questions is in how the bracket will work for the new cable. I've seen many people recommend many brackets but there always seems to be some issue. I like the kit from bowtie overdrives, however that is $150 and if I could go a cheaper route I will. Any suggestions or reccomendations? Also, will I be all set with my throttle cable? or will I need a shorter one too?
Thanks in advance as always guys!

Here is a pic of the linkage and bracket set up you will need, several companies out there sell linkages and brackets for what you need, I got mine through Holley. Here is a pic of my set up........
Here is the bracket you need.........

Awesome thanks for the reply with pics. I should have no problem using these on the summit brand carb I assume? Also is there a preferred TV cable to use (carb or tbi) or are they the same

The summit carb is just an old holley design

To my knowledge the two TV Cables are the same, except for legnth, where as the TBI cable is a little longer. Can anyone in here verify this for us?

Re: Vortec TPi to Carb TV Cable Question
Avoid the Holley bracket...they bend way too easily. I used the CSR bracket with stock TPI cables. You need to trim the TV cable plastic that snaps into the Th350 kick down bracket that comes with the CSR bracket. I also had to slot the holes in the CSR bracket a little to get correct tension on the throttle cable.
Lastly, get the geometry corrector bracket that bolts to the Holley and provides the correct sweep for the TV cable. I used the TCI corrector.
