Testing electric supply pump on 1987 Firebird LG4 ,305 carbureted
I'm in the process of troubleshooting the tank electric supply pump that supplies fuel to the mechanical fuel pump. The pump according to specs the pump supplies a pressure of 3psi.
I first disconnected the rubber fuel line going to the mechanical pump put a clear line in place going to a container. Hit the starter switch cranking the engine but I don't see any fuel coming out of the fuel line.
I located the fuel pump relay next to the power brake booster.
I am getting 12 volts out the connector going to the relay.
To bypass the relay; is it the tan/tracer and dark blue wires that supply power to the tank supply pump? The book shows tan and black wires that supply power to the pump. The wire that is dark blue could be actually black. I want to supply voltage to try to hear and see the tank pump work.
Here are two pics. One showing the fuel pump relay and one showing the wires going to it.
Can someone point out the correct wires at the pigtail that supply voltage to the pump. Thanks.
George
