350..Tbi or Carb
I just got my 89 Camaro changed from a 305 to a 350. I still have the old tbi from the 305 and i was wondering if the engine isnt getting the gas it needs. Also do you think i should get a carb or keep my tbi and make that better. If you think carb what do i have to do to my engine to make the carb work. I know the carb doesnt need the computer so i was told to take that out but other parts of the car do need the computer. So please tell me what ya think..thanx matt

for a carb swap you'll need:
Intake Manifold
Carburetor
Kickdown and Throttle linkage
you need to get the fuel pressure way down as well... which either means new fuel pump, or theres a conversion kit some damn place I think ...
I'm just going off the top of my head, I know theres a lot more people out there who know this **** like the back of their hand compared to what I know

Add to that list a vacuum/mechanical advance distributor, and a means to lock up your torque converter clutch.
If you have emissions to worry about, don't even think carb. A larger throttle body, intake manifold upgrade, and chip changes will get the TBI working the way it should. Your best bet would be to go over to the TBI board and check out what guys are doing there. If you have questions beyond what you can glean from the existing posts, they'll be glad to help.
This is just my opinion, but for a daily driver, it doesn't make sense to me to go backwards in technology. For all-out power for the least amount of money for a strip-only car, then carb's fine. Otherwise, stick with the electronic feedback systems.
