Rebuilding CCC ???

I was wondering if you can rebuild a computer controlled carb without changing how it is set up. Mine has like 130000 miles. I have not learned that much about carbs yet and want to be able to make my engine run when I get done. I have a rebuild kit for it but do not know if I would trust myself or not being as I need to have a car to drive. I took apart a normal quadrajet and it wasnt that bad. If I take it apart and put it back together with the rebuild kit I mainly need to know if it is going to throw all of my settings out of whack. I plan on learning how to tune it but I would like to start off with it running.

Thanks

Ben

Please help, my car is getting pieced back together over the next couple of weeks and I need to know what to do. Thanks. Also are there maybe some parts that I can replace without screwing up settings and just leave others?

If you've done a non-CC QJet before, you'll be ok. The only significant difference is that the mixture control solenoid is in place of the power piston, and there's a throttle position sensor beside the accellerator pump. If you're doing a total teardown and removing the mixture solenoid, bottom out the adjusting screw that holds it in and count the number of turns it takes. Then u can unscrew it and have a reference for when you re-assemble. Also when you remove the TPS make sure the spring below it doesn't go sailing out. When you reassemble, you might need to readjust the TPS but cross that bridge when ya get there.
Physically that's about it.

Well, when that was messed up on my carb, it was always running too rich; I could smell it easily at every stoplight. Also had a really bad off-idle bog, a bog during cornering, and bad transition to WOT.
Also I really had to mash it to get a downshift out of overdrive, so I think what may have happened there was the TCC didn't wanna unlock, but i'm not sure if that was a related problem.

Mine had some of those same problems. Actaully pretty much all of them, but not all real bad. I never though of that on my car because it was carbed. I will make sure to get it right on the 350 though.
