84 HO car to Holley Sniper
All,
Got rid of the quadrajet years ago and now using a Holley 750dp. Thinking my next project will be an upgrade to Holley Sniper EFI system.
Can I use my current gas tank or should I upgrade to a 85-92 FI tank?
I like my Holley but just want to get something that will always be at optimum performance and not have to worry about changing jet sizes, power valve, float level, etc.
Would be nice to see a How To section for the third gen cars that are carbureted and go to the Holley Sniper EFI. Someone on here has had to do it. Maybe I just missed it? Seems all the posts are FI to carb.
Any other tips from someone that has done this upgrade?

I am thinking of going with Holleys Sniper efi also. There are a few on here that did the FiTech swap. Summit Racing just came out with their own self learning efi Max-500 I think is the name. We now have several different options on the market. Atomic EFI to name another.
I plan on doing a intank pump which will not be as noisy as the external pumps.

Just wondering if I need a later year FI gas tank or okay to use my 84 tank?

You will have to run a return line and modify the stock tank unless you use FiTech's fuel command center system.

Craig84Z - did you ever make the switch to the Sniper? Would love to hear your review as I am planning this in the coming months.

anyone that may still be interested can use their existing carb tank and lines-provided your vehicle has the in-tank helper pump (most HOs and later LG4s). just need to drop the tank and install a higher pressure pump. If you have a tank without a pump you can swap in the FI fuel sender.
Some re-working of the fuel lines in the engine bay will need to be done to connect to the FI unit.

Blue hog- unfortunately I haven’t been able to make the switch yet. Post up here if you get to do before I do😊
