How do I check the dwell?

The shop manual says there's a green diagnostic ground. Another source says there's a diagnostic connecter on the firewall. I can't make any sense of this. There's about 15 different wires on the firewall and I can't for the life of me figure out which one is the ECM. Also...in the picture below. Is that the ground? I thought I was just supposed to ground the meter to it and stick positive side into the MCS.

Thanks,
Matt

Put the positive lead of the dwell meter on the green connector in your picture, and negative meter lead to ground.
