CarburetorsCarb discussion and questions. Upgrading your Third Gen's carburetor, swapping TBI to carburetor, or TPI to carburetor? Need LG4 or H.O. info? Post it here.
Yep it is. It's from my brother's boat, and I took a pic of it b/c of those peculiar tabs back in the summer when I was doing that ENGINE SWAP THAT KICKED MY A$$. Finally got to posting about it, today.
I was wondering if they're there to
*Reduce CFM?
*Increase signal at the discharge nozzle?
*Look extra-cool-marine-like?
Whatever they "do"...they look like a cheapy-cheap band-aid for something.

Re: Edelbrock Carb, what are these tin tabs?
I don't know why but first thing popped into my head was this is a marine carb. I might have seen this decades ago and my mind clicked onto marine. I can't remember ever seeing this before.

Looks like an attempt to even out the air/fuel ratio. Cannot say I have seen that. I have seen some that used a thicker booster to close off the CFM and make the primaries more responsive on smaller engines like the 4.3L.
