fuel pump

I almost ready to switch from tbi to carb, however I'm stuck between keeping the stock fuel pump and putting a regulator on or drop the tank and getting rid of the pump. How long does a pump last for?

Open to any suggestions....
Thanks.

Jester would say do the latter.

I haven't had such a choice (never was electric), but I'd tend toward that non-vapor locking option.

You'll be better off in the long run to go ahead and drop the tank and remove the elec fuel pump. I just put a 327 in my 89 Z and have the intake pump with a regulator. Even with the regulator it would flood the motor at low rpms and when starting. i have a switch and indicator light in my dash so, i can start my car, let it idle for 3-5seconds and then turn my fuel pump on. I used the elec when i first got it going because i couldn't find what i did with my holley mech pump. I'm getting ready to pull the tank this weekend and remove the pump and (maybe) install some baffles.
