I'm currently running 71x47 rod -- 107 Pri jet --- 092 Sec jet.
But I'm at 6300 Feet, and still have some tuning to do this summer.
The 1407(750CFM) is factory set at sea level, so it's no surprise they run rich as hell up here in Colorado where the air is less dense.
Try about 8% lean, and go from there. You'll need a rod & jet kit avilable from Edelbrock.
The distributor Vacuum is hooked up on the front passanger side
The screws in the front are for setting the idle bleed, and nothing to do with running rich around town. If I remember it's all the way in then turn them both out till max Idle speed then back in a full turn. Then set desired idle via the screw on the linkage.
If I remember correctly.

hey ronterry
did you just buy the kit part#1480 cuz it says it has like 6 pairs of rod and jets and 5 pair of setup spring.
and do you think that would be the best way to go its $45.00 but at least then i wont have to keep ordering diff rods and jets tell i get the best combo. or have you heard anything about this kit?
and thank you for your help:hail:

Accualy I had the 1479 for my 600CFM I had from years ago.
I did have to buy extra rods, and jets last year to get more tuning range for my 750.
To answer your question, yea I would get the 1480...
45 bucks is a good price, being that you pay alot more for the rods, jets, and springs seperatly.
