Lubricating a carb

Is it good practise to lubricate the internal moving parts of a carb eg where the AV's pivot etc? If so, what is appropriate to use?

The parts in a carb move so slowly compared to other parts of the engine... not even worth lubricating... If the carb is gunked up to the point where you might consider lubrication... it's time for a rebuild. While rebuilding the carb just "soak" the metal parts of the carb in a carb cleaner solution for a few hours... should make everything nice and pretty again.

Never lubricate a carburetor linkage/part. All it does is attract airborne dirt. They are designed to run dry and clean.

I spray the linkage with carb cleaner to remove any dirt . That's about it.

Using silicon spray on the linkage won't hurt and might even help if things are binding.
