Fuel Pump

I just noticed on a couple of posts, I had a 92 RS tbi, which i've now converted to carb. Though I have not yet removed the computer, are you all saying that should I remove the computer my fuel pump will NOT function? Or was I mis reading it? I seem to recall I have the three wire oil press sending unit. The majority of the harness is still in the car, but just not hooked up to anything, the ECM, computer is still plugged in however.

Sean- I beleive that's correct. The ECM energizes the fuel pump relay to turn on the pump. You can still remove the ECM but you will then have to hot-wire the fuel pump relay to the ignition switch. Not worth the effort to remove an ECM that will only save you about 8 ounces of weight.

94 Firebird Formula M6- No options but Z rated tires. No mods over $10. 13.5@105.
79 Malibu "beater" w/junkyard 400 SBC, tweaked QJet 4bbl, finally a decent set of heads, a few other tricks. A maddening 13.000001 @ 108 on the motor with little traction. No nitrous runs with the new heads yet.
Grandma's old 78 Malibu (33K miles!) soon to have the powertrain from the 79 put in it.
