Is there a way to convert a comp-controlled q-jet into a non...
Can I convert the computer controlled q-jet that came off my 84 305 into a non-computer controlled version? I guess removing the TPS wouldn't be an issue, but what about the MCS? I have a Holley on there now, but would like to have a backup if something ever went wrong...

Hehehe, actually, i imagine so. It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to make an analog device to drive the MCS based off a VAC sensor. Not too hard at all. A couple of timer circuits to give frequency and dwell, and a VAC sensor to bleed a cap to control the dwell. The trick would be tuning.
As far as using it as a purely mechanical piece, no that can't be done.

If you were going to do all that, you've just built a computer anyway, so the answer is still no.
